Our focus is on English early childhood education and care. The learning environment in Sunshine is truly international, with both staff members and children from all over the world. We are committed to creating a warm and inclusive community where families from all backgrounds feel welcome and supported.
We understand that starting daycare can raise many questions, especially for families who are unfamiliar with the Finnish early childhood education system. At Sunshine, there are no silly questions. We value open communication and work closely with families to ensure everyone feels heard, understood and part of our community.
Sunshine Early Learning Centre was founded in 2014. In the last few years Sunshine has expanded from one, to seven, early education centres. Our units are relatively small, offering children a comfortable and cosy learning environment.

At Sunshine, every child feels valued and included. We build warm relationships between children, families, and staff, and create a community where diversity is welcomed and everyone is respected. We also teach children to care for each other and the world around them.

Every day, we aim to provide care and education that families can trust and children can thrive in. Our activities are carefully planned around children’s individual needs and interests, and we continuously develop our work through training, teamwork and new ideas. We never compromise on safety, wellbeing or good service.
Joy
Joy is at the heart of everyday life at Sunshine. We want children to feel happy, safe, and excited to come to daycare. By noticing each child’s interests and encouraging our teachers to use their own strengths, we make learning meaningful, motivating, and enjoyable.

In 2026, Sunshine Early Learning Centre became part of AcadeMedia, Europe’s largest education company. Joining AcadeMedia strengthens our ability to provide high-quality early childhood education while remaining true to the values, culture, and personalised approach that make Sunshine unique.

Working Together with Touhula
AcadeMedia entered the Finnish early childhood education sector in 2024 through the acquisition of Touhula-päiväkodit, one of Finland’s leading private early childhood education providers.
Sunshine and Touhula continue to operate as separate brands with their own identities, educational approaches, and communities. At the same time, we benefit from close collaboration in areas such as employee development, quality improvement, and shared expertise.
